What are Cialis tablets used for?
Cialis tablets are used to treat erectile dysfunction in men. Similar to Viagra, Cialis tablets are known as PDE-5 (phosphodiesterase type 5) inhibitors, which help to increase blood flow to the penis, making it easier to get and maintain an erection. Cialis tablets are the branded version of Tadalafil and are available in 10mg and 20mg strengths.
Also known as a “weekend pill”, they are designed to be taken when required, usually 30 minutes prior to sexual activity, and last for up to 36 hours.
How do Cialis tablets work?
Cialis tablets contain tadalafil, which relaxes muscles in blood vessel walls. When taken to treat erectile dysfunction, this improves blood flow to the penis, helping men get an erection. However, men still need to be aroused in order to get and maintain an erection when taking Cialis tablets.
Cialis vs. Viagra
The main difference between Cialis and Viagra is their active ingredients and how long they stay in your system. Tadalafil, active in Cialis, lasts up to 36 hours, whereas Sildenafil, active in Viagra, lasts up to 4 hours.
Cialis allows for a lot more spontaneity when it comes to sexual intercourse, as you can take it several hours before.
How to take Cialis tablets
Take 1 x Cialis tablet with water at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. You can take it with or without food.
Cialis tablets will not work if there is no sexual stimulation. You will still need to engage in foreplay, just as you would if you were not taking Cialis.
When to take Cialis tablets
You should take Cialis 10mg & 20mg tablets at least 30 minutes before sexual activity to allow them time to “kick in”. Cialis 10mg & 20mg tablets can last up to 36 hours.
Alternatively, you can take Cialis daily tablets, which come in 2.5mg and 5mg strengths, if you have sex several times per week and often struggle to get an erection.
During your consultation with our online erectile dysfunction treatment clinic, our pharmacists can advise you on the best type and strength of Cialis to take for your needs.
How often should you take Cialis tablets?
Tadalafil, the active ingredient in Cialis tablets, stays in your system for up to 36 hours after you’ve taken it. One Cialis 20mg tablet is the maximum recommended dose when taking Cialis to treat erectile dysfunction, so you should not exceed 20mg within a 36-hour period.
Cialis 10mg & 20mg tablets are not recommended for daily use. Ideally, they should be taken 1-2 times per week.
Who can take Cialis tablets?
Most men suffering from erectile dysfunction can take Cialis tablets.
However, Cialis 20mg tablets may not be suitable for you if:
- You suffer heart problems or have had a heart attack or stroke in the last six months
- You have high or low blood pressure
- You suffer from liver or kidney disease
- You suffer from sickle cell anaemia or leukaemia
- You have a physical deformity of the penis
- You have a stomach ulcer
Do I need Cialis 10mg or 20mg tablets?
The recommended strength for most men is 1 x Cialis 10mg tablet, taken 30 minutes prior to sexual activity. If Cialis 10mg tablets do not have the desired effect, you should increase to Cialis 20mg tablets.
Can you buy Cialis tablets online?
You can buy Cialis online from Click2Pharmacy, a licensed online pharmacy in the US, making it easy for you to get the medication you need. Complete an online consultation for our pharmacists to review, and your prescription will be sent discretely and directly to your door.
